Clinical applicability of cardiac magnetic resonance feature tracking analysis in patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing ablation

چکیده
Background Catheter-based ablation techniques are widely applied in the restoration of sinus rhythm. The latter may result in an improvement of left heart function in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) feature tracking (FT) might help detect subtle wall-motion abnormalities. We aimed to analyze existence and reversibility of subtle cardiac dysfunction following atrial fibrillation ablation.

Effect of Oral Anticoagulant Therapy on Coagulation Activity and Inflammatory Markers in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation Undergoing Ablation: A Randomized Comparison between Dabigatran and Warfarin
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is associated with inflammatory and hypercoagulability state. Previous studies evaluated the safety and efficacy of dabigatran and warfarin in prevention of thrombothic complications. This study was intended to assess the influence of these drugs on hemostatic and inflammatory markers among patient underwent pulmonary vein ablation. A total of 100 patients with AF w...

متن کاملPrediction of gaps in atrial ablation lesion sets by late gadolinium enhancement magnetic resonance imaging
Background Arrhythmia recurrence following acutely successful catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF) is associated with recovery of conduction across previously complete circumferential or left atrial (LA) linear lesions. Late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) may be able to provide a non-invasive means to identify gaps in ablation lesions. This study assesse...
متن کاملAsymptomatic cerebral lesions during pulmonary vein isolation under uninterrupted oral anticoagulation.
AIMS Left atrial radiofrequency ablation has been shown to carry a risk of asymptomatic cerebral lesions. No data exist in patients under continued oral anticoagulation during the ablation procedure. The aim of this study was to quantify the amount of silent cerebral lesions assessed by pre-procedural and post-procedural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients under therapeutic internation...
متن کاملA comparison of late gadolinium enhancement magnetic resonance imaging and left atrial endocardial voltage
Background Following catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF), late gadolinium enhancement magnetic resonance imaging (LGE MRI) may be able to visualise areas of fibrosis and therefore reduced endocardial voltage. Unlike previous studies describing qualitative visual comparisons, we have developed a new quantitative technique for comparison of left atrial (LA) endocardial voltage with 3D ...
